Starting the Unpacking Design Podcast
After months of planning, discussing, and diving head first into the world of podcasting, my good friend, Mike LaValley from Evolving Architect, and I just released the first 3 episodes of our new podcast, Unpacking Design. We came up with the idea to start a podcast together during one of our mastermind sessions and as we talked about what it could be, we narrowed it down to a general idea and turned on the microphones. Here’s what you can expect and where you can find the Unpacking Design Podcast.
What is Unpacking Design?
As Mike and I brainstormed ideas for a podcast, we talked about some of our favorite podcasts like the School of Greatness, the Gary Vee Audio Experience, the Tim Ferriss Show, the Fizzle Show, Side Hustle School, Design Matters, and others. We realized that our favorite shows consisted of discussions between several people about things that they are experts in, excited about, and want to share with the world. All of the podcasts that we listen to are generally focused around self-improvement, health, authors of new books, business, and motivation.
So we asked each other, what could a podcast by designers for designers be?
That’s when we came up with the premise for Unpacking Design. In this podcast, Mike and I talk about products and ideas from our perspective as designers and architects. We share our experiences using those products that range from software and apps to physical objects and tools that we believe can help designers all over the world.
Where can you listen to Unpacking Design?
As we continue launching the podcast on various platforms, Unpacking Design is currently available on iTunes and on the Unpacking Design website. By the time you read this, it should (hopefully) be available on Google Play, Stitcher, and Spotify! If you’re interested in something that we talk about and want to learn more about it, we provide links in our show notes over at the Unpacking Design website.
We’re excited to launch Unpacking Design and to share our perspective with designers all over the world. I hope you can support us by listening to our episodes, subscribing to our podcast (if you like our show!), and leave ratings and reviews on iTunes. I’d love to know what you think about the topics that we discuss and if you have any suggestions for things that we should explore and talk about, feel free to drop us a line either on social media or filling out the comments form on the Unpacking Design website!
